Winter update, After the usual excuse of the arrival of a new baby (girl), I have got back into getting parts in for the restoration. A streak of Ebay bidding I now have: all three pedals, Steering rack\column, a complete Mini estate interior (largely for the rear bench seat), Handbrake and my proudest purchase a Moke windscreen surround. Thus I have now got pretty much all the bits for the rolling chassis. A few hours at the garage allowed me to get the chassis onto its wheels. I can now strip the suspension down for powder coatings, plating the fasteners and renew any worn bits (cue big spend at Minispares).
I have also contacted several other Yak owners, mainly as the cars coem up for auctions through ebay. I have found both the other kit sold from the remains of the Grantura factory, this appears to be the last complete car from the manufacturer. Where as mine was the last chassis\body shell. Then I have found the second Yak, this appears alittle different tot he later shells as the fuel fliller cap isnt recessed ito the side of the body shell, rather it sticks up vertically through the top of the side rails.
I'll post pics of the other Yaks soon, If you have a Yak let me know I am building a register of those still around. Scarbs@ScarbsF1.com
