Sauber gearbox and technical myths
The Sauber gearbox is nothing like the Ferrari set up, or any their part of the Sauber for that matter. Sauber are almost alone now in using vertical torsion bars (not on the launch car) operating three dampers in compression (push). The outside of the gearbox is somewhat aerodynamically dirty but the flow here is largely from within the sidepods and hence of a dirty nature any way. However Ferrari have tackled this issue with their F2003GA set up.
